Terms & Conditions of Purchase

  1. Payment Terms

Teak & Mahogany accepts these forms of payment:

1.1 Visa®, American Express®, Mastercard® Diners®

1.2 Bank Transfer

1.3 NETS

1.4 Cash payments in SGD

1.5 Cheques

Teak & Mahogany is not responsible for errors, acts and omissions of respective credit card companies. Teak & Mahogany requires full payment before a delivery can be made.

  1. Teak & Mahogany’s Return Policy

Teak & Mahogany must be contacted prior to any arrangement being made with regard to returning any product in line with our return policy.

Customers are required to present their receipt of purchase when requesting an exchange.

2.1 Exchanges can be made within 14 days of purchase to furniture that is:

  1. a) unused
  2. b) undamaged

2.2 Exchanges cannot be made for furniture that is damaged resulting from:

  1. a) misuse
  2. b) abuse
  3. c) wear and tear

2.3 Exchanges cannot be made for furniture that has been customised or coated.

2.4 Change of Mind

Refunds will not be provided due to change of mind, incorrect selection or if the item was found for a lower price elsewhere.

2.5 When selecting large pieces of furniture, please ensure our delivery crew can access the area (ie. staircases & elevators). Additional charges are  applicable for delivery of large pieces of furniture to, and higher than, the 4th floor.

3.1 All efforts have been taken to maintain accurate information and visuals on teakandmahogany.com.  

3.2 Teak & Mahogany does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of materials or any opinion, advice or statement on the site. Customer agrees that visiting or using the site is at Customer’s sole risk.

3.3 Teak & Mahogany does not warrant that the site, its services, or e-mails which are sent to or from it are free of viruses or other harmful components.  

3.4 Teak & Mahogany will not be held liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use of the site.

3.5 Teak & Mahogany is not liable for any damages, including consequential, indirect, and exemplary or punitive damages arising out of Customer’s use of the site or purchase of products through the site.

3.6 Teak & Mahogany reserves the right to change any information on our website without prior notice.

  1. Home Delivery

4.1  Home Delivery is free for purchases above SGD 1000, barring any major obstructions. Staircase-delivery charges are applicable for all deliveries to and higher than the 4th floor.

4.2 Teak & Mahogany’s delivery crew is not permitted to dispose of customer’s old/used furniture.

4.3 Customer assumes full responsibility for sufficient clearing of the area (e.g., doorways, hallways, stairways, etc.) in delivery address to allow for delivery of the furniture, and reloading. Customer assumes full responsibility for ensuring that furniture will fit the space, purpose and use intended by Customer. Teak & Mahogany and its delivery staff shall not be responsible for moving current furniture or obstructions during the delivery process. Customer's failure to prepare the intended location for delivery, as determined in the sole and exclusive discretion of Teak & Mahogany and its delivery staff, may result in re-delivery, with additional charges. If you insist the movers manoeuvre an item in a less than favourable situation, you will be responsible for any resulting damages to the furniture and the premises. The movers are not permitted to dispose of packing materials.

4.4 Our staff will be pleased to contact you within 24 hours of any purchase to confirm your delivery details and to arrange a suitable day and time for delivery. Customer is advised toy ascertain the specific needs and possible surcharges that may apply upon delivery.4.5 Our delivery time slots are from 10am - 1pm and 3pm-6pm, Monday - Saturday. If you are not home to receive the goods, your goods will be returned to the store, and another delivery will be arranged at an additional charge.

4.6 Changes to your delivery time are acceptable with minimum 48-hours notice.  Short-notice may incur additional charges. Customers may arrange to pick up purchases during business hours from Monday – Saturdays. Our warehouse is closed on Sundays.

  1. Goods Damaged in Transit

5.1 While we take every step possible to handle your merchandise with care, occasionally damage does occur during shipping or handling. Please inspect your purchase promptly after you receive it and report any visible damage within 7 days to Teak & Mahogany. One of our friendly staff will arrange to have the damaged item returned to the store and a replacement will be dispatched as soon as possible. Proof of damage is required by way of a photograph to help us assess the damage and facilitate a repair, replacement or refund of the damaged goods.

5.2 Should a replacement not be available, you will be entitled to a refund on the item. Damaged goods must be returned in the same condition as when received by you with all original packaging.

5.3 Successful purchase transactions will deem the Terms & Conditions stated herein to have been accepted by customer.

5.4 We aim to make your purchase and delivery of goods a fuss-free and pleasant experience at all times. Your satisfaction is our No.1 priority. We offer a “7 day, 100% money back satisfaction guarantee” on purchases which have not been customised.

  1. Storage Charges

6.1 Storage of furniture is subject to the availability of space, please enquire for information and details on charges that apply.

  1. Customisation and Coatings

7.1 All Teak & Mahogany furniture that is to be customised or to receive a coating from our staff will be done at one of T&M’s warehouses.

  1. Exported Furniture

8.1 Minor defects can be cleared up at home by a professional furniture technician.

8.2 In the unlikely event of receipt of a defective item, customer is required to send a photograph, clearly depicting the defect, with a written description so that we can assist you.  

8.3 While none of our manufacturers offer refunds for defective furniture, Teak & Mahogany will be willing to repair or replace the item on a case-by-case basis. Natural flaws and imperfections in wood add to a piece’s beauty and charm and should not be viewed as damages or defects. Please note: international customers will bear the cost of shipping items back to Singapore for repair/warranty claims.

  1. Repairs

9.1 Repair services are available when the product has no available warranty. At Customer’s request, Teak & Mahogany will provide repair services starting from SGD65. Quotes are dependant on a case to case basis.

  1. Promotional Sales

10.1 All clearance items are final sales and sold “AS IS” with NO warranty.  No returns, exchanges, or refunds will be issued.

  1. Conditions of Warranty

All furniture purchased from Teak & Mahogany is inspected prior to being delivered and we go to great lengths to ensure our furniture is of the highest quality. Any defects caused under manufacture or from faulty materials will fall under T&M’s warranty. Natural wear and tear in daily use is expected and will not be covered by this warranty. Furthermore any damage resulted from misuse or abuse, negligence and improper maintenance will not be covered.

11.1 Furniture

For teak: small cracks in end grains due to changes in temperature and humidity can occur. These may appear and disappear with changing weather conditions. This will not affect the durability or lifespan of your furniture and is completely normal.

Colour change will occur on unsealed wood surfaces. Teak and Mahogany carries a full range of teak cleaners and protectors that we recommend for use on your outdoor teak furniture. Teak and Mahogany is not responsible for defects caused by high water pressure cleaning as well as the application of varnish, wood stain or any cleaning product that is not carried within our product range.If the furniture contains screws, these will need to be tightened periodically as they can loosen over time.

11.2 Products containing glass

Warranty does not cover any damage caused to glass surfaces by misuse such as damage from impact or surface chipping.

11.3 For Viro®:

Viro® products contain warranty for up to 5 years from time of delivery. Products, under normal use and proper care, will be free from defects of cracking, peeling and breaking. This resin fibre can be washed with mild soap.

11.4 For Batyline®

We warrant our Batyline® mesh covers sold to the
 original owner to be free from defects in material
and construction for 3 years of normal residential
use. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from improper maintenance, misuse,
 negligence, or wear and tear.

11.5 For Stainless Steel

We only use grade 304 or T304 in our products. This type of stainless steel is highly durable for outdoors, although it is not recommended for use close to the ocean, or chlorine. Maintenance is required to remove surface stains and dust that can accumulate over time. We recommend a stainless steel polish and a dry sponge to keep your steel in pristine condition.

11.6 Cushions

Sunbrella® fabric warranty extends to 10 years for awning and marine fabric or 5 years for all other sunbrella® fabrics. This warranty protects against the fabric becoming unserviceable due to colour or strength loss from normal usage and exposure conditions including sunlight, mildew and atmospheric chemicals. The warranty does not protect against damage from misuse or abuse. Please review our Sunbrella® brochure for guidelines on cleaning to get the most out of your purchase.

11.7 Parasols & Cantilevers

Teak & Mahogany will not be held liable for any damages caused by parasols, cantilevers and umbrellas which have fallen over due to bad weather conditions. All parasols, cantilevers and umbrellas should be closed when not in use or attended to in windy conditions.

11.8. Aristo outdoor torches, lamps and candles

Teak & Mahogany will not be held liable for any damages caused by Aristo lamps & torches and unattended candles. All outdoor torches and lamps are only for use outdoors and should not be left unattended, especially around children and pets.

11.9. Hardwoods

Hardwoods may contain mineral deposits, pits, gum streaks, small pin holes, knots, colour differences, unusual grain patterns, darker heart wood, lighter sap wood, etc. However, it is these attributes that comprise the beauty of hardwood furniture. No two items are exact duplicates, and therefore Teak & Mahogany makes no representation or guarantee that Customer’s furniture will appear exactly as another.

  1. Intellectual Property

14.1 All content, material, artwork, graphics, logos, photographs and text are the sole and exclusive property of Teak & Mahogany. No content or material from may be copied, transmitted, reproduced or otherwise modified without the express written consent of Teak & Mahogany.
